So park aficionados are you ready for the next park review? This is a bit of a suburban secret, less playground more of a naturescape deal. But, there is still a playground.

Located at the end of Kent Street Wilson

One of the best things about this park is that there is a cafe on site that is open seven days a week. Upon enquiry of a staff member I was informed it is open 7am – 5pm unless there are extreme weather conditions (i.e. Storm or extreme heat). Coffee in the park anyone?

There is also toilets, BBQ’s and some picnic tables and benches.

The offerings

For the fur kid

Note dogs in the park must be kept on a leash at all times.

The weir

Cross the weir to use the walking track

The river was very swollen when I took this. Normally this is a great spot for kids to play in the sand and paddle in the water

The playground

Looking from the playground to Castledare Railway (miniature railway)

This is the location of one of the two Castledare Railway Stations

The station

Prices according to their sign as at 4th Feb 2012

Toilets (not the nicest photo but we all need to use them at some stage)

Also at the park you will find a small BMX track for public use

Hope you and yours have fun in the great outdoors soon.
