Tonight I was fortunate enough to attend the Perth premiere of Glee: The 3D Concert Movie. There is nothing like a mob of happy smiling movie goers to make you feel joyous in the moment.

Slushies were on hand, fortunately none were projected toward any persons, we had pre-show entertainment courtesy of the Perth Angels Stunt Team and some of the all singing, all dancing second year Musical Theatre students from WAPPA.

Prizes were awarded for best dressed movie goers, and then, the show was underway.

There were the songs and singers you expected and wanted to see, as well as some wonderful footage (I won’t give away any secrets) that was unexpected, yet equally tremendous.

We had dancing in the aisles and at front of theatre, cheers and whistling from the crowd when their favourite cast member appeared on screen, and laughter that was good for the soul.

It was a great night made more so by the diversity of the audience. The embodiment of what the show hopes to promote.

In cinemas from August 11 (2011) for two weeks only. Come on, get your Gleek on.
